Introducing… BBALL iQ

Introducing… BBALL iQ. We evaluate college players for the NBA Draft. Our evaluations compare large sample size stat averages of previously drafted players (by position) with current draft prospects to illustrate our evaluations.

Introducing… BBALL iQ. We are delighted to bring you evaluations of NBA prospects from the 2022-2023 season. BBALLiQ.org is the place for evaluations of NBA prospects who are college and international players.

In October 2022, there will be scouting reports of college players returning for their next year of college.

In January 2023, we will circle back to those players to do a second scouting report. Check in to see if we think their stock is on the rise.

In addition, in January of 2023 we will post scouting reports of Freshman Phenoms who are already “on the radar.”

And then we will make a third pass after the Final Four in preparation for the 2023 NBA draft in June.

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide insight into the game of basketball THROUGH the evaluations NBA prospects.

At BBALLiQ.org our approach will be slightly different from other evaluators.

  • Our evaluations are supported by video analysis and statistics.
  • Our evaluations will compare prospect performances to the stats of last college year of drafted NBA players from the 2017 – 2022 drafts.  Six drafts and 358 players from the first and second round
  • Our evaluations compare the metrics of prospects by three position categories;

Guards = 6’5” or less

Wings   = 6’6” to 6’9”

Posts    = 6’10” or above

  • Our evaluations use NBA Play Types as a guide for comparing the efficiency of prospect’s in those same Play Types in college. (Click here the article)
  • Our evaluations use color indicators for easy comparisons.

Blue      Player stat is comparable to the average of drafted NBA players by position.

Green   Player stat exceeds the average drafted NBA player by position

Red      Player stat is below the average of drafted NBA players by position.

             Darker shade signifies a greater statistical variant.

    Darker Green is increasingly GOOD.

    Darker Red is increasingly BAD.

  • The “ Wanna Sees” in our evaluations are areas of skill development that a player should add to elevate his NBA value.
  • The “Wanna Sees” in our evaluations will also show alternatives options in plays – to show what not there – but could be.

It is our hope that your understanding of the game of basketball will grow through our evaluations.

Until next time
